New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival Concert 1

American Musicological Society Greater New York Chapter Spring 2022 Meeting

I will present my paper, Randy Newman’s Timbre of Loneliness in “I Think it’s Going to Rain Today,” as part of Session II—Opera and Song (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. EST) at the Spring 2022 Meeting of the American Musicological Society’s Greater New York Chapter. New Voices for Orchestra Competition Winners Concert

The IU Jacobs School of Music Concert Orchestra performs new works by the five winners of the 2021 New Voices for Orchestra Competition, including my piece, Dreams of Flight. The other works include Beneath the Stillness by Anne Liao, Nocturne by Carlo Frizzo, You Are the Light by Ben Yee-Paulson, and The Evening Redness in the West by Ben Rieke.

The Glass Menagerie

The Tennessee, 4633 Westminster Place, St. Louis, MO 63108

As part of its 2021 season, Tennessee Williams Festival St. Louis mounts a production of The Glass Menagerie at one of Williams’ childhood apartment buildings—a location that helped inspire the play. The production is directed by Brian Hohlfeld and stars Brenda Currin as Amanda, Bradley James Tejeda as Tom, Elizabeth Teeter as Laura, and Chauncy Thomas as Jim. The show will feature incidental music written by Hohlfeld and myself. Read more about the production here.

Alec Rich Master of Music Tuba Recital #1

Alec Rich will premiere my work for solo tuba in f, Monologue, alongside pieces by Frédéric Chopin, Jarrett McCourt, Mark Nightingale, J.S. Bach, Samuel Barber, and Alec Rich as part of his first master’s recital at the Northwestern Bienen School of Music.

National Student Electronic Music Event (NSEME) 2021 Concert #1

A pre-recorded performance of my structured improvisation for Korg nanoKONTROL 2, and Max/MSP, Clock, Lightning Bolt, Volume, I Love You So Much will be presented on the first concert at NSEME 2021, a two-day festival of student electro-acoustic music hosted by Ithaca College, NY. 2021 MFA Thesis Exhibition

A thesis exhibition featuring works by graduating Master of Fine Arts students in the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design at Indiana University. My fixed media work, Re-heard, will be premiered as part of Tiffany Hokanson’s show, Re-seen. 48 Hours Composition Project Closing Recital—Featuring Wet Ink Ensemble

The Wet Ink Ensemble premieres my work, Speed Dating, along with other pieces written IU Jacobs School of Music students in the closing recital of the inaugural 48 Hours Composition Project. The 48 Hours Composition Project is an annual compose-a-thon held by the Jacobs School of Music Composition Department in partnership with a visiting ensemble. The ensemble gives participating composers a “prompt” on Friday, participants compose a work based on the prompt on Friday and Saturday, and then the ensemble rehearses and performs the new works on Sunday. Other composers featured on the concert include Chase Fox, Matthew Levin, Anne Liao, Daniel Nieberg, Ben Rieke, Yuseok Seol, Walker Smith, Alex Tedrow, and Anton Von Sehrwald.

Fresh Inc Festival 2020: Final Performance #1

The first of three world premiere concerts at the Fresh Inc. Festival 2020, featuring compositions by Alexa Letourneau, Sammy Sussman, Ben Palmateer, Elena Specht, Sergio Delgado, Nicholas Slaughter, Tengyue Zhang, and myself and performed by festival participants. Amanda Lubin’s Senior Piano Recital
